Overview

Endoscopy in Small Animal Practice

There are a wide variety of clinical applications for endoscopy in a small animal veterinary hospital.  At the Aloha Companion Pet Clinic we are pleased to have both a rigid oto-endoscope and a flexible fiber optic endoscope available to aide in diagnosing and treating our patients.  Some of the many services we offer with our flexible endoscope include examination of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract including the esophagus, stomach, and portions of the small intestines and the colon.  This allows for identification of ulceration, inflammation, polyps, cancerous growths and foreign materials for biopsy or removal.  Our rigid endoscope allows examination of the eardrum and ear canal for diagnosis and treatment of growths, infection and foreign material.  We also use our rigid endoscope to document disease and its treatment or progression by capturing video or still images.
