Oral disease is the No. 1 health problem in pets. 80% of dogs and 70% of cats show signs of periodontal disease by age 3. The best way to protect your pet from periodontal disease is by beginning a preventative dental care program now and maintaining it throughout your pet’s life. Such a program consists of regular oral exams by your vet, in-clinic dental cleanings when needed, and a home routine that includes regular brushing and a balanced diet. For dogs, a porphyromonas vaccine is also recommended. Remember that February is Dental Month: all dental cleanings in February are always discounted 10%.
